Special Needs Students Special Message for All Students

The following part is the "Students cannot live by Calculus alone" section. Students should be here in college to be exposed to new ideas from the marketplace of ideas. Here are some writings from people you should know, like Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine and Mark Twain, and some from people you may not know. You may be surprised at their writings. Expand your horizons. Give 'em a try. Also, if you know of some provocative writings that challenges a person and makes them think, recommend them to me.

Mark Twain. Thomas Paine.  This is the man of  "These are the times that try men's souls.  The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot ..." fame.  The words are the opening to "The Crisis."  He seemed to have a extraordinary ability to stay in trouble with the governments in power, especially the monachies. Kahlil Gibran. - This gentleman was a Lebanese Christian poet who walked the same land as Jesus.  In America, his best know work is probably The Prophet.  His story, Satan is a provocative little read.
